Quality Alpacas, Quality Care
The Alpaca Stud is located on some 200 rural acres in West Sussex, and is home to over 600 quality suri and huacaya alpacas. All alpacas for sale, with the exception of wethers (sometimes called geldings), are registered with the British Alpaca Society (BAS) and are managed wherever possible using organic farming principles. It is our belief that this extensive system allows our alpacas to be relaxed, and has led to what many visitors describe as, “the quietest alpacas they have walked amongst”.
Our alpacas are offered for sale with a warranty that gives you peace of mind. All our alpacas are for sale and are priced fairly according to quality and age. We make sure you understand the kind of animal your money is buying, whether it is a breeding female, stud male or a pet. We will replace any alpaca should you and that alpaca not “gel”.
Any client of The Alpaca Stud will receive free lifetime support for their alpacas:
- 24 hour advice on medical problems and emergencies
- Regular visits to inspect your herd and provide advice on your breeding programme as requested
- Help in preparing for shows
- Help with marketing and selling alpacas
- Advice on wethering (gelding) decisions
- Herd valuations

In one day learn how to:
- assess the quality of alpacas,
- how to choose the right stud males to achieve the crias you want,
- alpaca values,
- how to handle your alpacas safely, and
- cut their toe nails and give them their injections
Leading alpaca judge and teacher Nick Harrington-Smith will lead a hands-on course to give you total confidence.
