Nick has worked with alpacas for over 10 years and has a lifetime’s experience with stock farming behind him. He is committed to the success of the British alpaca industry—in order to gain a better understanding of alpaca breeding Nick became a qualified British Alpaca Society Judge and Trainer as well as an AOBA Judge! He has travelled the world judging and selecting alpacas, and is to be frequently found teaching courses for the BAS when not doing so at home.
John on the other hand came late to alpacas in 2003 following a very successful career spanning textiles, marketing, and finally as Managing Partner in an international law firm. John is without doubt a committed “Alpacaholic” and has travelled to Peru a number of times in search of the best alpacas. He has served on the BAS board and has undertaken The Alpaca Stud’s marketing and promotions management. John is often in the alpaca show ring although he has of late become much sought after as commentator, when in his relaxed and dulcet tones, he informatively and humorously shares his knowledge with exhibitors and public alike. John is however never happier than when working with the alpacas, oft bemoaning that he is not allowed to spend more time with them.
